Police are investigating a report in which a 31-year-old man was gunned down in Marabella on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Damion Simmons of Union Park East, Marabella.
He was killed on his birthday.
According to reports, just before 1:00 pm yesterday, officers from Marabella Police Station responded to reports to shots fired at St James Street, Marabella.
Upon arrival, they found Simmons' body lying on the roadway in a pool of blood.
He appeared to have gunshot wounds to his head and back.
The scene was cordoned off and crime scene investigators reportedly recovered several spent shells.
An autopsy is expected to be conducted today at the Forensic Science Centre in St James.
