A 26-year-old man has been charged for the murder of a homeless man who was killed in October 2016.
26-year-old Antonio Maharaj, of Bayshore, Marabella, appeared before the Deputy Chief Magistrate, Nannette Forde-John, in the San Fernando 1st Court, charged with the murder of Marlon Davis on Wednesday.
Maharaj was remanded into custody and will reappear in court on February 8, 2017.
David, 57, died from a wound to the back while being transported by ambulance to the San Fernando General Hospital on Tuesday October 25, 2016.
The victim had no known place of abode.
PC Dianand Gopaul, Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Three, laid the charge on Tuesday January 10, 2017, after receiving instructions from the Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions, Joan Honore-Paul.
