
An unidentified man was found floating in the Gulf of Paria.
Police are asking for assistance in identifying the body of a man whose body was found floating off the Gulf of Paria close to Petrotrin in Marabella last evening.
Reports say the body was spotted off about two miles from the shoreline by Petrotrin police around 6:00 pm on Friday.
The Marabella police were contacted and attempts were made to bring the body ashore, however, officials were only able to retrieve the body when the Coast Guard was called in.
Officers say the body is that of an East Indian man and was clad only in a pair of boxer shorts.
A post mortem has been ordered determine the cause of death.
It is understood police are checking reports of missing persons, in hopes of identifying the man.

This is the latest in a series of bodies found in Trinidad and Tobago over the past few weeks: a dead body was found in the VAT building in Port of Spain, while the body of a man was found in a container in Santa Cruz earlier this week.
