A 34-year-old man was shot dead in Marabella on Thursday evening.
LoopTT was told that Gordon Boney, a taxi driver of Caratal Road, was at Anil's Bar, located within walking distance from his home when the incident occurred.
He was said to be using a roulette machine at about 5:00 pm yesterday when a masked man approached him and shot him multiple times about his body.
The assailant then made good his escape on foot.
The police and emergency health services were notified, however, Boney was pronounced dead at the scene.
At least ten spent shells were said to have been recovered at the scene
Inquiries are continuing.
The is the latest in a series of violent deaths: earlier this week a dead man was found stuffed in a car trunk on Tuesday night, and two bodies were found this week; one in Point Fortin and one in La Romaine.
However police have actively been conducting exercises arresting 68 persons over seven days and seizing firearms and drugs in separate operations.
Meanwhile, 15 were held last night in yet another exercise by the Eastern Division.
