Starting from February 15, Water Taxi passengers travelling from Marabella will now enjoy a direct shuttle service route from Marabella to the Water Taxi terminal.
A notice released by the Public Transport Service Sorporation (PTSC) announced the new shuttle in a release earlier this week as an alternative option.
The Marabella option was chosen as a pilot route for the service, after which other “main population areas” will be considered for expansion.
The new service will run on all regular sailing days, departing from the PTSC Bus Stop on the Southern Main Road in the vicinity of Petrotrin and Tropical Plaza at 5:30 am.
It will run along the Southern Main Road, with passenger stops along the route during the morning period, while an afternoon service using the same stops will depart the Water Taxi San Fernando Terminal at 5:30 pm.
The cost of the shuttle is $3 one-way, and passengers must pre-purchase the tickets at the Water Taxi Terminal in San Fernando or Port of Spain as the bus will not accept cash payments.
Scheduled time stops will be subject to change depending on traffic conditions.
